Role Description
We are looking for News Reporter Interns from all over India who are passionate about journalism and current affairs. This is a 1-month unpaid internship designed to provide hands-on newsroom experience.
As a News Reporter Intern, you will:
- Gather information from reliable sources.
- Conduct interviews and research background details.
- Write and edit accurate, engaging news stories.
- Cover scheduled events and breaking news.
- Prepare content for digital and print platforms.
- Collaborate with editors and verify facts before publication.
- Assist in preparing press release-style announcements when required.
- Build local source networks and monitor emerging stories.
- Follow ethical journalism practices and editorial guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong reporting, journalism, interviewing, and fact-gathering skills.
- Excellent news writing and storytelling abilities.
- Understanding of press releases and converting official statements into news reports.
- Good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Hindi or other regional languages is an added advantage.
- Strong research skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced news environment.
- Journalism, Mass Communication, or related background is preferred, though passionate candidates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with digital publishing, social media platforms, and basic photo/video editing is a plus.
