Role Overview:
You will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate news stories. Common duties will include developing news stories, writing or editing scripts and overseeing news segment production.
Responsibilities:
- Researching or evaluating news story ideas
- Writing or editing scripts for News Anchors or Reporters
- Communicating with Reporters, News Anchors, Editors and other team members to ensure streamlined news reporting
- Studio production for a daily news broadcast. PCR based live news shows.
- Selecting or approving videos, graphics and other broadcast media
- Ensuring ethical journalism
- Working with technical staff to support broadcasting
Skills:
- 2 - 4 years of experience in news production
- Strong research capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to multitask and work under deadline pressure
- Proficiency with video editing and related technology, such as Adobe Premiere Pro
- Interviewing skills to discuss topics, gather quotes and support Reporters
- Scripting skills to combine storytelling with ethical, accurate reporting
- Flexibility to quickly conduct research on breaking news
