Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive News Content Intern with a strong interest in news, current affairs, digital media and social media. The role involves researching trending stories, creating news-based content and managing content requirements for our media pages.
Key Responsibilties
- Create clear, engaging and easy-to-understand news content for social media pages.
- Write headlines, short news copies, captions and other content as required.
- Verify facts and information from reliable sources before creating content.
- Monitor social media platforms to identify trending and breaking stories.
- Coordinate with designers and internal teams for timely content execution.
- Manage content requirements for assigned news and media pages.
- Maintain content trackers and ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in news, current affairs and social media.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and fact-checking abilities.
- Basic understanding of Instagram and other social media platforms.
- Ability to write simple, engaging and grammatically correct content.
- Good understanding of trends and what works on social media.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of Google Sheets/Docs is preferred.
