The Newmark Infrastructure Capital Markets team is seeking to hire an Analyst / Associate to join the New York office. The team is comprised of highly experienced investment banking professionals focused on infrastructure, power, and real estate equity and finance backgrounds. The Analyst / Associate will be joining the Infrastructure Group within the Newmark Capital Markets platform. The group has a very active current transaction volume and a robust pipeline of large-scale, complex capital markets and advisory transactions across North America.
The Infrastructure Capital Markets team focuses on advising infrastructure owners, developers, investors, and operators on the structuring, placement, and execution of debt, equity, and hybrid capital solutions, as well as M&A and strategic advisory assignments. The group is active across the infrastructure sector, including data centers, power and utilities, energy transition, ports, and other large-scale infrastructure.
Analysts / Associates are involved in all stages of a transaction, including financial analysis and modeling, market and policy research, asset and portfolio diligence, preparation of marketing and advisory materials, capital markets execution, transaction negotiations, closings, and client interactions. The position is based in‑office and requires comfort working in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare marketing materials and offering memoranda for infrastructure transactions, including research, financial modeling, and writing transaction narratives.
- Responsible for complex financial modeling of asset level cash flows and debt/equity structures utilizing market information, appraisals, and comparable data to quickly and accurately underwrite a variety of transactions.
- Must review and understand a vast array of relevant documents (sale and purchase agreements, partnership agreements, market consultant and technical reports, leases, etc.) to quickly identify relevant information.
- Network within the industry through meetings, events and involvement in real estate trade organizations.
- Participate in weekly pipeline meetings to discuss deal flow, deal status, market conditions and review new client leads.
- Track and maintain database of transaction executions and help identify new business opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience Required
- 1-4 years of related infrastructure experience (capital markets, M&A, development, asset management) in an analytically rigorous environment. Infrastructure, power and real estate investment banking experience is preferred.
- Self-motivated, team oriented, and strong time management skills to prioritize tight deadlines.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
- Ability to be proactive, anticipate demands and accomplish tasks with minimal direction and oversight.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing and communication skills; able to interface with clients including their top-level executives.
- Strong writing skills with ability to communicate analytical and marketing data effectively.
- Ability to work independently while being a team player.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer Skills
Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 annually.
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
