Your new role at NewDay

This role is part of the Product and Channels team, with responsibility for developing proposals and the commercial strategy for NewDay's personal loan portfolio. You'll take the lead on a mix of workstreams including our marketing approach, pricing strategy, optimisation of the application journey and more. All with the overarching aim of improving the performance, customer experience and profitability of the personal loan product.

You'll get to show off and build on your critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as work alongside a wide range of different people and teams, who can support you with their experience and expertise. We'd love for you to help us make personal loans the best it can be for our customers - and while we have great reviews already, we know there is always more we can do.

In your first 12 months you’ll deliver

  • Design and deliver pricing plans, in order to improve outcomes for customers and NewDay. This will include developing a testing framework to enable to test new prices and learn from the results quickly and consistently.
  • Identify segments of untapped value, where we think we can make improvements. This might be cohorts where we see low response rates or poor loan performance, where your proposed changes can produce better outcomes.
  • Continually re-evaluate the customer journey looking for ways for us to make improvements. This could include making the application form simpler and easier for customers to complete, exploring and helping deliver new tools to improve conversion rates, and thinking about how and when to best get in touch with our customers.
  • Review our eligibility criteria to see where we expand the loan offering to new customers, or where we need to tighten to reduce poor customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Using your data analysis and modelling skills to solve complex problems or undertake NPV modelling, to best optimise the loan product offering for our different customer risks and segments.

What You’ll Bring

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, so you're able to take on and solve complex problems.
  • An ability to learn quickly with a flair for numbers, or financial industry expertise.
  • A growth mindset and a desire to continuously develop and learn - you'll be pushed to explore and try new things, which may be outside your comfort zone.
  • Technically able, with proficiency in one or more of: SQL, Python and VBA.

And would love you to know or learn:

  • Experience in forming and presenting proposals, analysis or solutions, ideally to a wide range of stakeholders, including those more senior.
  • Analytically curious - While implementing proposals to improve things is exciting, you'll also understand the importance of understanding the impact and learning from any changes we make.
  • Strong collaboration skills to build rapport with internal teams and our partners.
  • A high level of organisation ability to help lead and deliver changes which may involve multiple teams.
