Position Title: Engineer – New Product Development

Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on NPD Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in the fasteners industry. The role involves end-to-end new product development, engineering design, drawing creation, and cross-functional coordination to support successful product launches. The candidate must have strong exposure to fastener standards, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering drawings. The candidate must also be capable of reading, creating and modifying SolidWorks 2D & 3D drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
New Product Development
- Lead development of new fastener & sheet metal products (bolts, screws, nuts, washers, special fasteners).
- Conduct feasibility studies based on customer drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with sales, supplier production, quality, and procurement for product realization.
- Develop prototypes and oversee incoming trial samples.
Supplier Interaction
- Interface with suppliers for technical clarifications.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
- Work with suppliers for raw material and tooling development.
Engineering Design & Drawings
- Create and modify 2D/3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
- Interpret customer drawings, GD&T requirements, and technical specifications.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with tolerances and material specifications.
- Ensure compliance with international fastener standards such as:
- ISO standards
- DIN standards
- ASTM International standards
- SAE International standards
Quality & Inspection (Should be knowing):
- Handle incoming, in-process and final inspection of fasteners
- (bolts, nuts, screws, studs, washers, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with customer drawings, quality standards and specifications
- Strong understanding of tolerances, fits, threads and gauging
- Use and guide inspection with Vernier, Micrometre, Height Gauge, Thread Gauges, Ring & Plug Gauges, Spectrometer, Profile Projector, CMM, UTM, etc.
- Handle Non-Conformances (NC), Deviations and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Support customer inspections, audits and quality meetings
Mandatory Quality Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong Control & Inspection knowledge (Must Have)
- Deep understanding of fasteners standards (ISO / DIN / ASTM / IS)
- Hands-on experience in fasteners & sheet metal NPD and design processes
- Ability to identify root cause and support continuous quality improvement
- Experience in manufacturing process (cold forging / hot forging / machining preferred)
Software & Tools:
- SolidWorks – 2D & 3D (Mandatory)
- MS Excel / MS Word / MS Office (for quality reports & records)
Qualification:
- Diploma / B.Tech / ITI in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent communication skills – English, Hindi
