ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following but are not limited to):
- Experience working with adults with I/DD preferred, or experience treating individuals with physical, cognitive, and psychological ailments
- Competence in administering and interpreting standardized assessments
- Supervise COTA(s)
- Evaluate and treat clients
- Timely completion of recertifications, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Adapting and modifying the course of treat as indicated
- Communicate with supports coordinator to promote implementation of recommendations in home and community settings
- Developing treatment plans in line with ISPs
- Educate staff on recommendation to be performed outside of therapy sessions
- Adheres to DDD guidelines for habilitative and rehabilitative therapy services
- Follows directive from Clinical Director
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective client care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Current state licensure in Occupational Therapy
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience physical therapy; preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities (special needs)
- Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives
- Experience with ClinicSource (therapy practice management software preferred)
