Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Manager, R&R Governance to join our team.  The successful candidate will lead the enterprise governance framework for Mineral Resource and Reserve estimation and reporting to ensure consistent standards, independent oversight, and defensible disclosure across the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish and maintain the corporate governance framework for Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimation and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and guidelines governing Resource and Reserve estimation, classification, and reporting.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks including S-K 1300, NI 43-101, and JORC Code where applicable.
  • Lead the enterprise Resource and Reserve reporting cycle, coordinating inputs from operations, technical teams, and corporate functions.
  • Ensure Resource and Reserve statements are compiled using consistent methodologies, assumptions, and documentation standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of corporate Resource & Reserve disclosure tables and supporting documentation. Lead internal audits of R&R products and processes
  • Oversee the independent technical review process for Resource and Reserve estimates prior to disclosure.
  • Ensure appropriate challenge and review of classification criteria, estimation methodologies, and modifying factors.
  • Escalate material technical risks or inconsistencies to senior technical leadership. Coordinate external audits of R&R products and processes as required
  • Maintain enterprise Governance Critical Checkpoint system, R&R risk and action register
  • Support the Qualified Person responsible for Resource and Reserve disclosure by ensuring estimates are supported by appropriate technical documentation and review.
  • Maintain clear audit trails and technical documentation supporting reported figures.
  • Ensure year-over-year changes in Resources and Reserves are clearly understood and documented. 
  • Identify and track portfolio-level risks related to Resource and Reserve estimates.
  • Maintain visibility of key assumptions, uncertainties, and classification risks across the asset base.
  • Provide recommendations to reduce uncertainty and strengthen confidence in reported Resources and Reserves.
  • Work closely with geology, mine engineering, metallurgy, and planning teams to ensure integrated Resource and Reserve estimates.
  • Ensure alignment between Resource models, mine plans, and modifying factors used in Reserve determination.
  • Facilitate coordination between operational teams and corporate technical leadership. Own Qualified Person succession planning and capability development. 
  • Promote adoption of industry best practices in Resource and Reserve estimation and reporting.
  • Improve governance processes, reporting systems, and documentation standards across the organization.
  • Support development of internal capability in Resource & Reserve governance practices.
  • Escalation of material R&R matters and disclosure risks to Director, Geology
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field; or Bachelor of Science degree with equivalent experience required

  • Over fifteen (15) years’ experience in mine geology or exploration providing expert competence required

  • Minimum three (3) years’ in a senior role managing geologists and mining or exploration programs required

  • Familiarity with International Reporting Codes and meets the requirements for Qualified Person under SEC and CIM regulations required
  • Proven ability to communicate optimally; both verbally and in writing required
  • Team leader with the ability to work collaboratively within a coordinated and agile multidisciplinary team, regardless of reporting structure required
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision required
  • Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership required
