About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Test Engineering Lead to join Qualcomm's dedicated System Test team. This role is pivotal in driving quality improvements and enhancing customer satisfaction across Qualcomm’s connectivity solutions, particularly WiFi and networking access points. As a key leader, you will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive test strategies, including test plans, automation frameworks, and validation tools for WiFi routers and related products. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the delivery of robust, production-grade software and firmware, aligning with customer needs and industry standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including systems, development, architecture, hardware, and lab teams—to understand feature requirements and translate them into effective testing solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to influence product quality at a strategic level while leading a talented team of engineers to innovate and improve testing methodologies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in engineering, computer science, or related fields, complemented by extensive experience in software and systems testing. A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience is required, with a proven track record in embedded systems, automation, and test development. Candidates should have hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or Shell scripting. A deep understanding of networking protocols, hardware-software integration, and testing automation is essential. Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are preferred, along with leadership experience in managing engineering teams and projects. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate under the premise that all customer-reported issues highlight potential enhancements within QA processes, fostering continuous improvement.
- Analyze new features and develop comprehensive test plans, including creating and updating test cases to cover various scenarios.
- Manage testing infrastructure, develop test topologies, and prepare detailed use cases for validation and verification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—software, hardware, system, and network operations—to support end-to-end product releases.
- Lead small teams of engineers in troubleshooting, data analysis, and issue resolution, ensuring timely and effective problem-solving.
- Mentor and train team members on complex features, testing strategies, automation techniques, and best practices to build a high-performing team.
- Conduct log analysis with team members to accurately identify root causes of issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including product management and field teams, to ensure testing aligns with customer requirements and product specifications.
- Develop and implement automation frameworks and tools to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
