The Information Security Specialist will support the organization’s cybersecurity initiatives by implementing security standards, participating in security projects, conducting research, and providing technical guidance. The role involves working closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure that information security controls and best practices are effectively embedded within the organization.
What will your job look like?
- Support the development and implementation of information security standards, procedures, and best practices aligned with organizational strategic goals.
- Contribute to improving the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the security program.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to define information security requirements for internal initiatives and organization-wide projects.
- Assist in implementing these requirements and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
- Analyze technical and business needs to support the creation of security solutions.
- Research applicable industry standards, frameworks, and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Assist in monitoring compliance and provide recommendations for improvement to relevant teams.
- Educate peers and project teams on emerging standards and good practices.
- Assist in designing security solutions, preparing technical documentation, and participating in security demonstrations or POCs.
- Support technical evaluations of IS products and services.
- You will provide technical guidance to IS teams by means of coaching and mentorship to achieve project goals to the required level of quality. Promote team engagement, empowerment and motivation.
- You will onboard new hires, train and share knowledge, take an active role in technical mentoring and elevating team knowledge.
- You will enforce quality processes (i.e. performing technical root cause analysis, outlining corrective action for given problems) and ensure that all the project agreed deliverables are completed to the required level of quality.
All you need is...
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching
- Experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) and security appliances
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and NAC solutions
- Knowledge of cloud security (Azure, AWS, GCP) preferred
- Familiarity with endpoint protection, SIEM, and identity security
- Experience with Cisco ASA Firewall, Check Point, and data center switching
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting ACLs, NAT, and Site-to-Site VPNs
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, load balancers, IP subnetting, and the TCP/IP model
- Experience leveraging GenAI for:
- Alert summarization
- Investigation queries
- Log forwarding rule creation
- AI-driven anomaly detection & behavioral threat modeling
- Experience in log parsing, SIEM automation, and enrichment scripts
- PowerShell scripting for network/security tasks with AI support
- Using GenAI to optimize scripts, enhance documentation, and improve firewall rule optimization
