Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure network solutions (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS)
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to threats
- Configure and manage security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems
- Maintain documentation of security configurations and incidents
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching)
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Understanding of encryption and authentication protocols
- Hands-on experience with tools like Wireshark, Nessus, Metasploit
- Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows)
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) are a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- Relevant certifications such as:
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- CompTIA Security+
- CCNA Security / CCNP Security
