Role: Network L2 Operations Support - Cisco -Wireless - L2
Location: Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai
Job Type: Contract
Responsibilities
• Provide L2 support for enterprise network infrastructure with focus on Cisco Wireless LAN (WLAN).
• Monitor and troubleshoot wireless network issues including connectivity, authentication, roaming, and performance problems.
• Configure and maintain:
• Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC)
• Cisco Access Points (APs)
• SSID configuration and security policies
• Handle incidents, service requests, and problem tickets as per SLA.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Support firmware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 & Layer 3 issues related to wireless networks.
• Work with TAC support for complex issues and vendor coordination.
• Maintain documentation, network diagrams, and SOPs.
• Participate in 24x7 shift support (if applicable).
Required Technical Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience in:
o Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC 2504/3504/5520/9800 Series)
o Cisco Access Points (Aironet / Catalyst series)
o WLAN security (WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS)
• Knowledge of:
o VLANs, STP, Trunking
o DHCP, DNS, NAT
o TCP/IP, SNMP
• Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
• Basic understanding of routing & switching concepts.
• Experience with Cisco Prime / DNA Center (preferred).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
