Role Description
The IoT Field Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, with a requirement for frequent travel outside the city around 25 days a month for client site deployments and service calls (accommodation provided by the company). This role involves visiting client locations to install, configure, and maintain Internet of Things (IoT) devices, smart sensors, gateways, and associated connectivity infrastructure. The technician will diagnose and resolve device connectivity or hardware issues, perform routine system checks, and ensure stable data transmission to cloud or local platforms. Daily responsibilities include documenting work performed, coordinating with internal teams, and providing clear updates to clients on service status. The role also requires delivering courteous customer service, adhering to safety and compliance standards, and supporting scheduled maintenance and emergency support as needed.
Qualifications
- Mandatory Requirements: Must possess own bike/vehicle and know how to drive both a car and a bike, as travel to local and outstation client sites is an essential part of the job.
- Candidates should possess strong IoT and networking fundamentals, including familiarity with wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, Bluetooth) and gateway configurations.
- Candidates should possess practical hardware installation skills, including mounting smart sensors, connecting actuators, and deploying physical edge devices.
- Candidates should possess solid troubleshooting skills for identifying, analyzing, and resolving sensor failures, firmware glitches, and data communication bottlenecks.
- Candidates should possess effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients on-site.
- Relevant experience as an IoT technician, field technician, or similar hands-on smart infrastructure role is preferred.
- Understanding of basic edge device security practices, data privacy protocols, and adherence to safety standards is beneficial.
- Ability to travel outside the city for work assignments (accommodation provided by the company), manage time independently, and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field; industry certifications related to IoT or networking are an advantage.
- Experience working with government department.
