Role Overview:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for operational support, maintenance, patching, and lifecycle management of Fortinet firewall platforms across on-premise and cloud environments. The role ensures the security, availability, and performance of network security controls while supporting business resilience and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide day-to-day operational support for Fortinet firewall platforms (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
· Plan and execute firewall patching, firmware upgrades, and vulnerability remediation
· Monitor firewall performance, health, and capacity
· Manage firewall policies, NAT rules, and routing configurations
· Support incident response and problem management activities
· Work on Fortinet firewalls across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI)
· Assist with secure connectivity between on-premise and cloud (VPNs, routing, segmentation)
· Collaborate with cloud, DevOps, and security teams
· Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards
· Maintain documentation and support stakeholders
Essential Skills:
· Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet firewall technologies
· Experience in patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
· Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, routing, load balancing)
· Experience in ITIL-based environments (incident/change management)
· Strong troubleshooting skills
Desirable Skills:
· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI)
· Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
· Knowledge of cloud networking (VPCs, VNETs, security groups)
