Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Remote Network Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and support enterprise network infrastructure across distributed environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network security. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, remote infrastructure management expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers).
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and support LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions.
- Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).
- Troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Perform network capacity planning and performance optimization.
- Implement network security best practices and access control policies.
- Work with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) including VPCs, NSGs, load balancers.
- Manage incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
- Support network automation initiatives using scripting (Python, PowerShell) where applicable.
- Maintain documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors for escalations and project delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 4–10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and support.
- Strong expertise in:
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Routing & Switching
- VLANs, STP, ACLs
- VPN (IPSec, SSL VPN)
- Firewall configuration and management
- Experience with enterprise networking vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, Palo Alto).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to support 24/7 rotational shifts if required.
Preferred Certifications
- CCNA / CCNP
- Fortinet NSE
- Palo Alto PCNSE
- AWS / Azure Networking Certification
- ITIL Certification
