Ideal Candidates will Have:

  • Genuine interest in theatrical distribution and the release, marketing, and exhibition of independent films
  • Familiarity with NEON’s slate and how films build momentum through press, audience response, and box office performance
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail; comfortable managing release calendars, box office data, and regional research
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret trends and performance metrics across markets and titles
  • Clear and effective written communication for internal updates, exhibitor outreach, and screening reports
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets (formulas, trackers, and datasets a plus)
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace tools (Docs, Gmail, Zoom) and research platforms such as IMDbPro or exhibitor databases
  • Working knowledge of the theatrical landscape — indie cinemas, major chains, festivals, and current industry trends
  • A self-starter mindset — proactive, resourceful, and eager to take initiative beyond assigned tasks
  • Interest in the intersection of marketing and exhibition, including trailer placements, regional strategies, and audience targeting
  • Experience with Premiere or Photoshop is a plus (e.g., basic trailer edits or deliverables)
  • Prior experience in distribution, exhibition, programming, or marketing is a bonus, but not required
