Role Description The NDT Inspector will perform non-destructive testing on pipes and related products to verify their integrity, quality, and compliance with applicable standards. This full-time, on-site role is based at the Jindal Saw Ltd. facility in Gandhidham. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing NDT methods such as ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, and visual inspection to detect flaws, discontinuities, and corrosion. The NDT Inspector will review drawings and specifications, interpret test results, document findings, and prepare inspection reports for internal teams and customers. The role also involves collaborating with production and quality teams to resolve quality issues, maintaining NDT equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and supporting audits and certifications.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in NDT methods such as Ultrasonics and Eddy Current, with the ability to select appropriate techniques and parameters.
- Strong Inspection and Quality Control skills, including interpretation of standards, codes, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of Corrosion mechanisms and defect types commonly found in pipes or heavy industrial products.
- Relevant NDT certifications (e.g., Level II in UT, ET or equivalent) from a recognized body are highly desirable.
- Experience in pipe manufacturing, heavy engineering, or a similar industrial environment is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process documents, and material test reports.
- Strong attention to detail, record-keeping accuracy, and ability to prepare clear inspection reports.
- Commitment to safety practices, adherence to site procedures, and willingness to work in a shop-floor environment and shifts as required.
