Magnarus is looking for an experienced NC Programming & Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's engineering team in Hyderabad. This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced Aerospace and Defence manufacturing projects involving NC programming, process optimization, and precision machining using industry-leading CAD/CAM technologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesNC Programming & Manufacturing
- Create NC programs using CATIA V5 based on component geometry and established programming guidelines.
- Validate NC programs using Vericut to ensure machining accuracy, collision-free operation, and process efficiency.
- Develop setup sheets and manufacturing documentation for CNC machine operators.
- Optimize machining strategies to improve productivity, quality, and cycle time.
- Support manufacturing process planning and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with Aerospace Manufacturing Engineers to deliver work packages and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Collaborate with production teams and external vendors to improve manufacturing methods, tooling, and process efficiency.
- Provide technical support during production and rework activities.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all NC programs and manufacturing processes comply with customer requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Participate in process reviews, tool validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing quality and efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation for NC programs, setup sheets, process plans, engineering changes, and quality reports.
- Prepare technical reports and manufacturing documentation using Microsoft Office applications.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in NC programming using CATIA or similar software.
- Experience in NC programming for 5 axis CNC machines is essential.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 and Vericut Software is required; experience in machining is preferred.
- Familiarity with NC program optimization techniques is desirable.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and CAD/CAM design and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with G-code and precision machining capabilities.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018) standards for mechanical design.
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
- Ability to create and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the Aerospace or Defence industry.
- Knowledge of NC program optimization techniques.
- Practical machining experience is an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
