About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated GNSS Navigation Engineer to join our team at VyomIC, where we are building the next-generation Global LEO- PNT(Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) satellite constellation from India.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing robust and high-precision navigation solutions, including PVT estimation algorithms, signal processing pipelines, correction models, navigation message frameworks, and resilient positioning techniques for LEO-based systems.
You will work at the intersection of GNSS engineering, navigation algorithms, signal processing, and system architecture, helping define the core navigation intelligence of VyomIC’s constellation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced PVT (Position, Velocity, Time) algorithms for LEO-PNT systems.
- Develop and optimize:
- Pseudorange-based estimation techniques
- Doppler-based positioning and velocity estimation
- Carrier-phase processing techniques
- Navigation filtering and estimation pipelines
- Develop and implement correction techniques for:
- Ionospheric errors
- Tropospheric errors
- Satellite clock biases
- Multipath mitigation
- Measurement bias estimation
- Perform system-level simulation and modeling of GNSS signals.
- Support development of high-accuracy positioning services such as:
- PPP (Precise Point Positioning)
- Differential correction frameworks
- Hybrid GNSS + LEO positioning approaches
- Perform system-level simulation and modeling of GNSS and LEO-PNT signals.
- Analyze signal robustness under:
- Interference
- Jamming
- Spoofing
- Multipath environments
- High-dynamic LEO conditions
- Build simulation and validation environments for navigation performance evaluation.
- Conduct performance analysis for accuracy, integrity, availability, continuity, and convergence.
- Collaborate with hardware, mission design, and GNSS team to ensure seamless integration of signal design into payload and receiver platforms.
- Support prototype implementation and testing, including software receivers, SDRs, and hardware-in-the-loop setups.
- Stay updated with the latest global GNSS and LEO-PNT advancements, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong background in digital communications, signal processing, satellite navigation systems, Estimation theory
- Hands-on experience with GNSS signals (GPS, Galileo, NavIC, etc.),
- Strong understanding of:
- PVT estimation
- Navigation measurements
- Doppler and pseudorange processing
- Navigation coordinate frames and timing systems
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for simulation and algorithm development.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, GNU Radio, etc.).
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Prior work on GNSS/PNT signal processing.
- Knowledge of PPP/PPP-RTK systems, LEO-PNT systems.
- Knowledge of interference mitigation, and anti-jamming/anti-spoofing techniques.
- Experience with hardware testing, FPGA/DSP implementations, or software-defined receivers.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams bridging signal design, system architecture, and hardware realization.
