About the role
We're building a relationship bank for a digital age. Our customers expect to be able to interact with us in person, or by using technology.
That freedom carries on to our colleagues. We offer different types of working arrangements to allow the best in collaboration, and to give flexibility where it's needed.
Some of these arrangements depend on the type of job you do, and some of them depend on you and the type of flexibility you need.
With the range of jobs in our business, there's no such thing as one-size-fits all. So we've developed a simple framework with three categories.
Remote first
You'll spend most of your time at home, working with your team digitally. You'll come into an office or hub when you need to collaborate closely with colleagues, which we'll expect to be at least twice a month.
Hybrid
You'll work from home some of the time, but you'll also spend a significant amount of time working from an office or hub. In most cases you'll be on site so you can connect with and serve customers, or meet clients. Branch jobs sit in this category.
Office first
If you're in an office first job, most of your time will be spent on site at one of our offices, hubs, or centres. This will be either because you need to be physically on site – for example in a cash or data centre – or because of regulations that affect your job, such as if you're a trader.
Flexible working
Whether you're a parent, a carer, a student, or just have a busy lifestyle, we know it's not always easy to commit to standard working hours. So we offer a range of flexible working arrangements that will let you balance your life between home and work.
Note that in some jobs, we might not be able to offer flexible hours for business reasons. We'll always accommodate flexible working where we can, so speak to your hiring manager or recruiter about which options work for you and for us.
Job share
You and a colleague share the duties of one full time job, with each of you working part time hours on a pro rata basis.
Part time
You'll work fewer hours a week than someone on a full time contract, either by working on fewer days, or for fewer hours each day.
Annualised hours
You work a certain number of hours over the year, often made up of core weekly hours and flexibility in when you work the rest.
Flexi-working
Start and end work when you want, as long as you work your weekly hours and you're working within core times.
