About The Role

As a nature educator/outdoor experiences facilitator at Midori, you will guide children, families, and communities through outdoor experiences that spark wonder, curiosity, and connection with nature. This role blends facilitation, nature education, and event coordination, ensuring every stargazing session is well-organized, engaging, and unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate telescope gazing experiences: Lead stargazing sessions and introduce participants to planets, stars, and celestial objects in an engaging, accessible way.
  • Facilitate outdoor experiences: Lead nature-based learning sessions and introduce participants to nature, birds, and celestial objects in an engaging, accessible way.
  • Session setup & technical support: Handle telescope setup, alignment, and basic troubleshooting before and during sessions.
  • Coordinate & support events: Manage on-ground flow — from seating and crowd movement to smooth session transitions.
  • Engage participants: Interact warmly with children, parents, and groups; answer questions and spark curiosity about space and science.
  • Logistics & materials management: Prepare and maintain session materials and seating.
  • Collaborate with team: Work closely with coordinators and partners to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Documentation & feedback collection: Support testimonials, photos, short videos, and participant reflections after sessions.

Technical Skills (Preferred)

  • Basic knowledge of nature and telescope handling.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
  • Basic photography/videography during night sessions is a plus.
  • Access to a personal laptop is beneficial.
  • Open to learn Canva

Experience

  • Prior experience in outreach, nature education, or facilitation. (Preferably)
  • Experience working with children, families, or community groups.
  • Exposure to outdoor, experiential, or educational programs is a plus.
  • Background in science, physics, engineering, or related fields is helpful.

Time Commitment

  • This is a full-time work opportunity.
  • Working days: Tuesday to Sunday
  • Working hours: 8-10 hours
  • Regular travel to places where sessions will be hosted
  • Flexibility to work remotely in case in-person sessions are not available.
  • Weekly off is only provided on either Monday or Tuesday

Duration: 4 months of probation period (with potential extension based on performance).

Salary: 15,000 to 18,000 per month for probation period.
