About the Role
We are looking for an experienced intern with hands-on Native iOS development skills and,
critically, prior working experience with Apples ScreenTime APIs (DeviceActivity,
FamilyControls, ManagedSettings). You will help us build privacy-preserving passive data
collection pipelines on iOS that feed into our psychometric scoring engine.
This is not a beginner internship. We expect you to have shipped or prototyped iOS features
beyond tutorial-level work.
What You will Do
• Build and maintain Native iOS modules in Swift using SwiftUI and/or UIKit.
• Design and implement features using ScreenTime APIs: DeviceActivity, FamilyControls,
ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivityReport.
• Work with background tasks, BGTaskScheduler, and lifecycle constraints unique to iOS
(including terminated-state limitations).
• Integrate with native frameworks for health, motion, notifications, and system signals.
• Collaborate with the backend team to ship reliable on-device → cloud data pipelines.
• Write clean, testable, well-documented Swift code.
Must-Have Requirements
• Demonstrable experience with Apple ScreenTime APIs (FamilyControls,
DeviceActivity, ManagedSettings). This is non-negotiable — please include code
samples, repos, or shipped apps.
• Strong proficiency in Swift.
• Working knowledge of SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Experience with Xcode, provisioning profiles, entitlements, and App Store Connect.
• Understanding of iOS app lifecycle, background modes, and sandboxing.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and async/await in Swift.
• Git proficiency.
Nice-to-Have
• Flutter knowledge — ability to write Swift platform channels, Flutter plugins, or bridge
native iOS code into a Flutter app is a strong plus.
• Experience with HealthKit, CoreMotion, or CoreLocation.
• Familiarity with Combine or Swift Concurrency.
• Prior work on apps requiring user privacy entitlements or App Review justification for
sensitive APIs.
• Published apps on the App Store.
What We are Looking For
• Someone who has actually wrestled with ScreenTime API entitlement approval,
FamilyControls authorization flows, and the quirks of DeviceActivityMonitor extensions.
• Pragmatic problem solvers who can read Apple documentation critically and find
workarounds when the docs fall short.
• Strong ownership and willingness to debug issues that have no Stack Overflow answer.
