About True Sparrow
True Sparrow is a product design and engineering services company. We partner with enterprises and startups across North America and Europe, embedding deeply with their teams as a trusted extension of their organization. We are a small, fully remote team of builders who care about craft and ship work we are proud of.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Native iOS Developer to work with one of our clients, a platform that powers campus and workplace experiences for leading universities and enterprises. You'll work as a core part of their engineering team, building, updating, and shipping high-quality and complex iOS features used by hundreds of thousands of end users.
This role is for someone who takes pride in clean Swift code, sweats the UX details, and holds themselves to a high bar on performance and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Build, maintain, and improve a native iOS application using Swift and modern Apple frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into intuitive, high-performance mobile features.
- Take full ownership of the features from implementation to testing and production release.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and UI regressions.
- Write clean, testable code with appropriate unit and UI test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain coding standards, and contribute to a healthy engineering culture.
- Stay current with iOS platform updates and proactively advocate for adopting relevant new capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of native iOS development experience with Swift as the primary language.
- Deep familiarity with Apple frameworks: UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine, Core Data, and the broader SDK ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of iOS architecture patterns (MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture).
- Experience with RESTful API integration, JSON parsing, and working with backend teams.
- Proficiency with Xcode, Instruments, and debugging tools.
- Solid understanding of App Store submission, provisioning profiles, and release processes.
- Outstanding communication: You can clearly articulate technical trade-offs to engineers and non-engineers alike, and you ask the right questions before writing a single line of code.
- Strong attention to detail: You catch edge cases others miss. You test on real devices, not just simulators.
- Bias toward ownership and action: You treat every feature as if your name is on it. You don't wait to be unblocked; you find a way.
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, async-heavy environment with a US-based client team.
- Immediate joiners.
Working Hours
You will work closely with a US-based client team. Overlapping availability during US Eastern business hours is required. This means you will be working from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST on a daily basis. Occasionally, you may be asked to stretch beyond this window based on project needs, and we appreciate the flexibility to do so when required.
Why Join True Sparrow
- Ship software used by students and employees at top universities and enterprises across North America.
- Meaningful, visible impact; your work ships to real users.
- Remote-first culture
- A small team that gets it. You'll work alongside senior engineers and designers who have shipped with enterprise clients across the globe.
