POSITION SUMMARY:
As a part of our Integrated Healthcare team, this position will provide administrative and clinical support to the Native American Connections (NAC) Provider and the Integrated Clinic’s daily operations under the supervision of the Practice Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with all aspects of Integrated Clinic’s COVID-19 testing and vaccine program (including scheduling, supplies, cleaning, and documentation)
· Answer phones and schedule follow-up appointments.
· Take vital signs
· Assist clients with new patient paperwork
· Take medical histories and/or reports of client medical concerns
· Explain treatment procedures, prepare patient for Provider examination
· Assist Provider as needed during examinations
· Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
· Instruct patients about medication, special diets, and follow-ups/referrals
· Prepares client electronic chart by inputting information from patient intake packet to electronic record
· Play an active role in the implementation of special projects related to establishing/expanding new clinical services
· Support and actively engage in practices of inclusion through Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards.
· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant program required
· Electronic Medical Record experience
· Clinical Documentation experience
· Understanding of community referral sources
· Knowledgeable about the economic, educational, and social problems of Native Americans
· Experience in working with the Native American population preferred
SKILLS REQUIREMENT
· Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
· CPR/First Aid Certificate within 90 days of hire
· Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license
· MS Office proficiency
· Bilingual- Spanish desired
· Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors
· Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent customer service skills
· Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational and time management skills.

· Understand the dynamics of substance use and demonstrate the ability to integrate the knowledge for practical application
· Ability to inquire about patient medical needs and to report to the provider before appointment.
· Either proficiency or readiness to learn IM injections (deltoid and gluteal)
· Experience with venipunctures and processing of lab samples for Sonora Quest to retrieve (ie blood draw, centrifuge, label, store properly, and transport to specimen container)
