This role will be filled in a hybrid capacity, with collaboration taking place in our Columbus OH office 2 days per week.

We're looking for a seasoned ETL Software Engineer to lead development efforts and mentor junior team members while driving strategic data initiatives. This role involves designing and maintaining ETL pipelines, troubleshooting production issues, optimizing workflows for performance, and ensuring data quality and governance across systems. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to align business needs with scalable solutions and support application operations through data analysis and documentation.

Ideal candidates will bring over six years of hands-on experience with Informatica, strong proficiency in Teradata, BTEQ, and Perl, and familiarity with cloud-based platforms—especially Databricks. A solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, performance tuning, and CI/CD practices is essential. Experience with Universal Automation Center (UAC) is a plus, along with strong communication skills and a proven ability to lead projects in Agile environments.

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.

• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

• Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.

• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.

• Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director. 

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree. 

Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. 

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
