Schedule: Contingent Variable Shifts. Staff is expected to work 8/hrs. per 2 week pay period.
Assists anesthesia team by creating all IVs and IV setups
Sets up offsite anesthesia cases by transporting gas machines and Pyxis back stands
Team-structured work environment with high amounts of collaboration required
Performs a variety of technical and supportive tasks to assist daily clinical operations. Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares operating rooms for surgery by assisting with equipment and supply needs, setup, and routine maintenance.
- Assists OR team with room turnover, patient beds, and transportation of case carts.
- Maintains inventory of relevant surgical supplies and equipment.
- Transports patients, labs, gross specimens, and blood, as necessary.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Certifications:
BLS Certification, preferred.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Self-starter who requires little or no supervision.
- Ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.
- Effective multitasking, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment.
- Working knowledge of supply chain or materials management.
- Working knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures.
Experience:
Previous health care experience, preferred.
