FyneHand is mandated to hire for the role of National Sales Manager to be based in Mumbai.
Our client is a leading specialist in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and a manufacturer of complex molecules and polysaccharides. They are a part of the 50+ year-old V-Group, currently exporting to 70 countries worldwide. The company has received global FDA accreditations from several countries, including the USFDA, EDQM, and the FDA of Russia, China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, the UK, Australia, and Canada.
Role Overview:
The NSM will oversee domestic sales and marketing operations for client's primary Urology portfolio and may also lead the Gynaecology segment. The primary objective is to drive business growth, profitability, and strategic market leadership. This role demands a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of specialty pharmaceutical markets, proven sales expertise, and an established network of key opinion leaders throughout India.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Drive strategic direction and business objectives for the Urology & Gynecology Division in alignment with corporate goals
- Lead, mentor, and manage a pan-India sales force including zonal and regional sales managers
- Develop and execute annual business plans, ensuring achievement of sales targets and market expansion
Sales & Marketing Excellence
- Oversee all domestic trade and government sales activities
- Identify growth opportunities and implement strategies for new product launches, brand building, and portfolio expansion
- Ensure optimal product positioning, pricing, and promotion strategies within both specialties
Market & Industry Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leading urologists, uro-gynaecologists and gynaecologists (minimum 100 KOLs/KBL’s)
- Monitor market trends, competitor movements, and regulatory changes to stay ahead of the curve
- Strengthen client’s footprint across trade, institutional, and government business segments
Operational & Financial Accountability
- Manage full P&L responsibility for the division, ensuring top-line growth and bottom-line profitability
- Ensure robust MIS reporting, forecasting accuracy, and data-driven decision-making
- Optimize field force productivity and ensure strong compliance with company and regulatory norms
People Development
- Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous learning within the sales and marketing teams
- Support capability-building initiatives to enhance field effectiveness and leadership depth. Drive corporate mandates and growth strategies, including market entry, expansion, and product launches across emerging markets
- Lead P&L responsibilities across domestic and international markets, leading existing cross functional teams to deliver consistent business growth
Qualifications & work experience
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Science/Pharmacy or Marketing
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the Urology/Gynecology pharmaceutical sector
- Proven experience managing large, diverse sales teams across India
- Strong exposure to government tender sales, trade marketing, and institutional business
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, MIS, and P&L management
- Track record of consistent sales achievements and successful product launches
Key competencies:
- Energetic leader with strong field presence - able to spend a minimum of 20 days per month in the field
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with a focus on execution and results
- Long-term commitment and passion for organizational growth in specialty pharma
