Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy and Planning
• Own the all-India sales strategy for YugX — new installation (NI), modernisation (MOD) and AMC growth across existing and new geographies
• Define annual and quarterly sales targets by branch, by segment, and by product category — in alignment with the MD and financial plan
• Identify priority markets for expansion beyond Gujarat — assess opportunity size, competitive landscape and entry approach for cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Pune and beyond
• Build a market entry playbook for new geographies that does not require opening a branch office — agent networks, project-based presence, and key account relationships
• Leverage the MAC PUAR product range strategically — identify segments where European technology commands a premium and build a sales approach accordingly
Sales Structure and Pipeline Management
• Build and own the YugX sales pipeline system — a simple, consistent, branch-agnostic process for logging enquiries, tracking quotations, forecasting closures and reporting order intake
• Conduct structured weekly or fortnightly sales reviews with branch managers and field sales teams — hold the organisation accountable to pipeline discipline without alienating field people
• Define conversion rate benchmarks for each stage of the sales funnel — enquiry to quotation, quotation to order — and work with branches to improve them
• Introduce structured sales reporting to the MD — monthly order intake, pipeline coverage, win/loss analysis, competitor activity
• Work with the HQ applications team to improve quotation turnaround time and accuracy — a common point of friction in NI sales cycles
Branch Sales Leadership
• Provide sales direction and coaching to Branch Managers — build their commercial capability, understand existing customer relationships and identify where structured sales support adds the most value
• Define the right sales team structure below Branch Managers as the business scales — when to add a Sales Engineer, when to add a lead generator, which markets justify dedicated headcount
• Own the hiring and onboarding of all future sales team members
Key Account and Segment Development
• Personally own a portfolio of strategic accounts
• Build YugX’s presence in architect, consultant and PMC networks at a national level — these relationships influence specifications across multiple projects
• Identify large MOD opportunities in ageing building stock in Gujarat and beyond — work with the Service Head to convert the AMC base into a structured MOD pipeline
Reporting and Governance
• Report directly to the Managing Director on pipeline, order intake, team performance and market conditions
• Participate in monthly management reviews alongside the Service Head and Branch Managers
• Maintain clean records of all strategic accounts, key contacts and active opportunities in a format accessible to the MD
What We Are Looking ForQualifications and Experience
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering — or a business qualification with a strong technical sales track record
• 15+ years of experience in the elevator industry or a closely related capital equipment or building products sector
• At least 5 years in a sales leadership role — managing a team, owning a revenue target, and reporting to senior management
• Demonstrated experience building or restructuring a sales organisation — not just managing an inherited one
• Exposure to both project sales (NI, MOD) and recurring revenue (AMC or service contracts) is strongly preferred
Strategic and Commercial Skills
• Ability to think at a national market level — identify where to play, how to win, and what to build first
• Strong commercial instinct — understands margin, pricing strategy, and the difference between revenue that builds a business and revenue that just fills a quarter
• Comfortable designing simple sales processes and pipeline tools without needing a large CRM implementation to get started
• Able to read a P&L and contribute meaningfully to the company’s financial planning as the sales leader
Leadership and People Skills
• Able to lead from the front — credible with field sales people who have built their careers on relationships and street knowledge, not just process
• Builds trust quickly with both senior management and ground-level teams — the bridge between the MD’s strategic vision and branch-level execution
• Coaching orientation — develops the people below them rather than doing everything personally
Personal Qualities
• Gujarati and Hindi fluency strongly preferred — most of the existing team and customer base operates in these languages
• Comfortable with significant travel — both within Gujarat and nationally as market development requires
• Builder’s mindset — energised by the opportunity to create structure and scale where little exists today
• Long-term orientation — this role is for someone who wants to grow with YugX over a multi-year horizon, not a short-term assignment
