National Sales Head – Capital Equipment & Industrial Projects
Location: Mumbai or Pune · Pan‑India travel (10–15 days/month)
The Opportunity
Our client is a three decade old well-established profitable engineering and projects company supplying customised capital‑equipment solutions to power, cement, metals, sugar, paper and allied process industries is rebuilding its sales engine. They are hiring a National Sales Head with a clear mandate: win new customers, scale high‑value customised orders and enforce a performance culture. This role will be responsible for driving revenue from approximately 150 crore to 300 crore over the next 3 years.
Role Mandate
- Own national order booking and revenue for customised capital‑equipment and project solutions to heavy process industries, with a 3‑year goal of doubling revenue from ~150 crore to 300 crore.
- Make new customer acquisition the primary growth engine: identify, open and convert new logos across target sectors.
- Personally lead from the front on key opportunities – plant visits, joint solutioning with the technical team and closing complex techno‑commercial deals.
- Travel extensively (10–15 days per month) across customer locations, EPCs and OEMs to build and convert a robust opportunity funnel.
- Be a strict task‑master: drive weekly reviews, clear action lists and tight follow‑through on every inquiry, visit and proposal.
- Enforce disciplined CRM usage and detailed reporting – every lead, visit, proposal, stage and decision to be updated and reviewed regularly.
- Build and upgrade the sales team: set sharp KPIs, coach actively and take firm calls on performance and culture fit.
Ideal Profile
- 15–22 years of B2B sales experience in customised capital equipment / engineered solutions for heavy process industries (boilers, power plant equipment, pollution control, large process machinery, EPC‑type solutions, etc
- Proven hunter with strong new‑customer acquisition stories – has consistently opened new accounts and closed large, customised, multi‑stakeholder deals
- Strong exposure to at least two target sectors: power, cement, metals/steel, sugar, paper, chemicals or similar
- Solid experience leading and managing a sales team: target setting, review rhythm, coaching and corrective action
- Dynamic, take‑charge, go‑getter personality with a clear “buck‑stops‑with‑me” attitude and comfort in a demanding, promoter‑led environment
- Hands‑on, field‑oriented leader who leads by example and is comfortable with travel 10–15 days a month.
- Mechanical Engineering background is a must; management degree is a plus.
