About the Role
The
National Manager – RCU (Gold Loans) is responsible for overseeing end-to-end risk control activities for the Gold Loan product. This includes fraud investigation, vendor monitoring, process audits, and driving automation to strengthen risk management. The role requires close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure robust controls, timely reporting, and continuous improvement in fraud prevention strategies. The incumbent will lead the RCU team, foster a strong risk culture, and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Investigate fraud cases and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor vendor empanelment processes and performance.
- Conduct and arrange seeding/mystery shopping exercises to validate process adherence and identify gaps.
- Identify process lapses, forgery, or misconduct by staff, customers, or third parties.
- Conduct surprise branch visits and audits quarterly to verify stock and process compliance.
- Track market trends related to vendors, branches, and employees to assess emerging risks.
- Engage regularly with business teams and internal departments to identify fraud risks.
- Guide and lead the Gold Loan RCU team, instilling a strong risk culture across functions.
- Drive automation and data analytics to enhance risk management and operational efficiency.
- Perform root cause and gap analysis of fraud events; recommend changes to processes, products, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise fraud investigations, ensure timely submission of reports, and record loss events.
- Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting and support system enhancements for portfolio monitoring.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead strategic projects related to fraud detection and process improvement.
- Ensure quality and timely completion of change initiatives.
- Provide swift and accurate responses to ad hoc deliverables.
- Act as a backup for other product lines as needed.
Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities
- Monitor team productivity, hiring quality, and attrition rates; implement improvements as needed.

What We Are Looking For
Education
- Graduation: Any Graduate
- Post-graduation: MBA in Finance or a related field (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in risk containment, fraud control, or related functions within banking or financial services, preferably in Gold Loans.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong expertise in fraud investigation, risk assessment, and control frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of Gold Loan operations and associated risks.
- Proficiency in data analytics and automation tools for risk monitoring.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
