Duties
The role involves overseeing facility operations, maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure support activities across assigned NIST locations to ensure reliable operations supporting mission-critical research activities. In this position, you will: - Plan, direct, coordinate, schedule, inspect, and supervise facility operations, maintenance, and infrastructure support activities. - Oversee the work of facility and trades staff supporting building systems, utilities, preventative maintenance, repairs, and operational projects. - Manage utility and infrastructure systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient campus operations. -Coordinate with researchers, administrative staff, contractors, utility providers, and external stakeholders to support facility and project needs. -Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) by developing procurement packages, statements of work, government estimates, and related acquisition documents. - Monitor and manage maintenance, repair, and service contracts. - Ensure compliance with safety requirements and implementation of best management practices. - Support the planning and execution of facility improvement, repair, and sustainment projects.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level (ZA-III at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience supervising and performing administrative and facilities support activities involving overseeing construction management; assigning duties to subordinates; maintenance operations and contract/ project management; and coordinating with customers for maintenance related activities and repairs. AND A valid state Driver's License is required for this position. NOTE: We cannot accept photographs; therefore, please do not submit a copy of your license with your application package.
