National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project. About the Position Are you ready to jump into the exciting world of market development? As an Associate Analyst in Market Development, you'll be at the forefront of National Grid's Distribution System Operations (DSO) function in Massachusetts. Your role will involve driving strategy and execution while collaborating with various teams to ensure we're ready for the energy future. Think solar, batteries, and active demand response—your work will help us leverage these resources to meet grid needs and engage customers in the energy solution! This is a hybrid role based in Waltham, MA. What You'll Do In this role, you'll have the chance to be part of a new team that focuses on both internal and external collaboration. Here's what you'll be up to: DSO Capability Development: Help coordinate the development and enhancement of DSO business capabilities across the organization, ensuring we align with our strategic goals. Strategic Business Models: Work on developing and refining business models that support National Grid's effectiveness as a DSO, keeping in mind industry best practices and regulatory expectations. Cross-Department Collaboration: Facilitate teamwork across departments to integrate DSO initiatives into our existing operations and processes. Data Analysis: Analyze performance data to spot trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Regulatory Compliance: Assist in meeting DSO-related regulatory requirements, including timely reporting and documentation to ensure we're compliant at the federal level. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with DSO initiatives to ensure successful project delivery. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the DSO function, finding ways to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
