OverviewThe National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, looks to hire a Summer Intern to join its Political and Federal Government Relations teams.
Responsibilities- Assist the Federal Government Relations and Political teams with various tasks.
- Attend Congressional Candidate Interviews.
- Attend Capitol Hill meetings with team members.
- Research small business policy issues and draft documents to support our advocacy and political efforts.
- Help the Federal Government Relations team during NFIB’s annual Fly-In
- Attend and write memos on Congressional Hearings.
- Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions.
Qualifications- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Relations or a related subject.
- 0-1 years of work experience.
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week and come into the office (T/W/TH).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.
- Interest in policy, political issues, and U.S. Federal government.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Pay Rate - $18.50 an hour
