Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a National Consultant - Water Management based in Varanasi. The consultant will be responsible for implementing water management strategies, analyzing water usage data, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices for an ongoing project in Andhra Pradesh. The role includes coordinating with stakeholders, managing field activities incl. measuring the irrigation water application, and preparing comprehensive reports to improve water use efficiency and water productivity in rice farming systems. Strong collaboration with research teams and local communities will also be required to ensure effective knowledge transfer and implementation of best practices.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in water management techniques, irrigation systems, and hydrological analysis
- Skills in research, data collection, and environmental impact assessments
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and capacity-building initiatives
- Excellent writing and reporting skills for creating technical documents and proposals
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively on-site
- Prior experience in sustainable agricultural practices or working with rural communities is highly desirable
- Master’s degree in Water Management, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related fields
