Job Purpose: The Nurse Manager is the first line manager designated as the leader for a specified nursing unit, its resident population, and the assigned staff. The Nurse Manager has 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all residents’ care activities taking into account the individual resident’s special physical or age-related needs.
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate’s degree or diploma. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group (adult, geriatric) served on their assigned unit.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science Nursing degree (BSN).
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Possess current New York State license for Registered Nurse. Current BLS Certification.
Experience: Possess two (2) years’ medical/surgical experience or two (2) years’ long-term care experience.
Preferred: Two (2) years’ nursing management experience in a skilled nursing facility.
