The Regional Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the Western regional business operations, driving sales growth, business development in new vertical markets and product applications, and identifying innovative distribution channels to maximize overall sales.
Location:
Residence near a major national airport required. Western region of the United States
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of lighting industry experience
- Comprehensive understanding of established sales processes within the lighting industry
- Proven regional sales experience
- Availability for extensive travel
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other responsibilities may be assigned as dictated by departmental needs, including temporary reassignment for training purposes.)
- Foster relationships with existing and potential customers including Manufacturer’s Representatives, Consulting Engineers, Electrical Distributors, and contractors.
- Identify prospective end-users, transforming interactions into meaningful sales opportunities.
- Maintain Salesforce CRM, ensuring accurate updates for tracking key opportunities and generating new leads.
- Formulate strategic sales initiatives aimed at achieving growth and profitability.
- Ensure satisfaction and retention of current clients.
- Guide distribution partners and manufacturer representatives toward achieving regional objectives and profitable outcomes.
- Stay informed of industry advancements, product innovations, and evolving customer needs.
- Update and manage the customer database, recording weekly interactions and tracking sales progress.
- Prepare persuasive sales and marketing proposals for targeted clients.
- Forecast quarterly sales activities, establishing clear performance objectives.
- Support new product innovation tailored to customer demands.
- Outline comprehensive short and long-term sales strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-sale and post-sale training sessions for clients.
- Demonstrate products to prospective and existing customers effectively.
- Participate in relevant trade shows.
- Relay timely market intelligence on competitors and industry shifts.
- Resolve customer complaints, warranty issues, and return merchandise authorizations efficiently.
- Execute strategic sales plans aligned with organizational objectives.

Reasoning Ability:
Competent in interpreting instructions presented in various forms and addressing standardized situations involving multiple variables.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency with CRM software (preferably Salesforce), database software, internet applications, and Microsoft Office suite.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional customer service capability required.
Physical Demands:
Regular sitting, handling, speaking, and hearing. Frequent reaching with hands and arms. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus necessary.
