Position Overview

The Production Planner I supports the manufacturing process by performing kit release/receipt, material support, and documentation maintenance activities within production environments that support manufacturing schedules and operational commitments on engineering and production programs. The Production Planner I is responsible for participating in the accuracy and timeliness of the production process.  This role will communicate cross-functionally to ensure all parties are aware of change orders and delays with purchase orders.  This role will also be responsible for maintaining accurate job status and progress records, communicating potential delays or issues to the supervisor, and using the database system to manage work orders from release through receipt into stock.

Key Responsibilities 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must have 3+ years related experience in material/production or configuration control environment.

  • Working knowledge of material requirements and planning processes in a mixed model environment.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with high level of attention to detail skills is a must.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, within team and other departments.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel / Word) required.

  • APICS Certification a plus

  • Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing (Infor) Database a plus

  • Knowledge of Backflushing / Point of Use / Min-Max - Inventory management methods is helpful.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Expected pay range is between $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk and hear, use repetitive motion, type, use ten key, and keyboard.  The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle and feel.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
