Role Description The Music Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging music lessons to primary and secondary students, aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives. Daily tasks include teaching music theory and practical skills, leading vocal and instrumental sessions, preparing students for performances, assemblies, and school events, and organizing choir or music clubs. The role also involves assessing student progress, maintaining classroom discipline, and collaborating with other teachers to integrate music into broader educational activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Virendra Public School in Delhi, India, requiring regular presence on campus for classes, rehearsals, and school functions.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Music Theory and general Music concepts, with the ability to explain them clearly to students.
- Proficiency in Music Performance, including experience performing in ensembles or solo settings.
- Background in Music Education, with experience planning lessons and using age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Ability to play Piano and use it effectively for instruction, practice, and accompaniment.
- Relevant formal training such as a degree, diploma, or certification in Music or Music Education.
- Experience teaching children or adolescents in a school or similar educational setting.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a student-centered approach.
- Ability to plan and coordinate school performances, concerts, and cultural events.
