Roles and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server versions on x64-bit operating systems (including SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022)
- Migrate databases from SQL Server environments and support end-to-end migration activities
- Upgrade SQL Server software to newer versions and apply service packs and patches safely and systematically
- Manage SQL Server administration tasks using SQL Server Management Studio and related tools; schedule and reschedule jobs as required
- Create and manage database maintenance plans, including rebuilding/reorganizing indexes and performing integrity checks
- Perform database backup and restore operations, ensuring reliability, recoverability, and adherence to maintenance schedules
- Configure and support Always On availability settings
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot replication scenarios
- Conduct performance tuning activities to improve database efficiency and stability
- Support customer queries and technical issue resolution via phone and written communication
- Apply logical and critical thinking to diagnose issues, implement fixes, and prevent recurrence
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Stay updated with evolving database technologies and best practices
Skills Required:
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA
- Strong experience with SQL Server versions (2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022)
- Expertise in database installation, configuration, and upgrades
- Experience in backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
- Strong knowledge of high availability solutions (Always On Availability Groups)
- Experience with replication configuration and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
- Familiarity with SSRS, PowerShell scripting, and Azure SQL (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Education: B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
