Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define the product roadmap for all four MSME product lines
- Conduct competitive benchmarking against NBFCs, PSU banks, and fintechs
- Identify white spaces in the MSME credit market and build business cases for new product variants or customer segments
- Drive digital-first product design: API integrations, workflow automation, borrower self-service portals, and bureau-embedded decisioning.
P&L Ownership & Business Performance
- Own disbursement volumes, AUM targets, yield, net interest margins, and OPEX-to-AUM ratios across all product lines
- Prepare and present monthly MIS, portfolio dashboards, and board-level business reviews
- Drive revenue growth through pricing optimisation, cross-sell strategies, and portfolio deepening with existing borrowers
- Identify cost-efficiency levers in sourcing, processing, and servicing to improve cost-to-income ratios.
Credit Policy & Risk Partnership
- Co-own credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and deviation matrices
- Lead product-level portfolio reviews; define and implement corrective actions for segments showing stress
- Embed early warning signals (EWS) and dynamic risk controls into product eligibility frameworks
- Ensure compliance with RBI MSME lending norms, priority sector guidelines, FLDG caps, and co-lending master directions.
Channel & Distribution
- Build and manage a multi-channel origination engine: direct sales teams, DSAs, digital aggregators, and embedded finance partnerships
- Define channel-specific product variants and incentive structures; monitor channel quality metrics and portfolio behaviour by source
- Develop co-lending and BC partnerships; support due diligence and programme structuring with partner banks.
Technology & Digital Transformation
- Partner with the technology team to digitise the end-to-end lending journey: from lead generation and underwriting to disbursement and collections nudges
- Drive adoption of alternate data sources (GST, banking analytics, utility data, social data) in underwriting models
- Lead digital SCF product development with API-based anchor integration, real-time invoice discounting, and automated collections.
Stakeholder Management & Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Segment Leads across UBL, LAP, EPM, and SCF
- Collaborate with Sales, Risk, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Treasury to drive execution
- Represent the MSME product portfolio to investors, rating agencies, co-lending partners, and board-level committees.
- 15+ years of experience in MSME / SME lending with significant product ownership exposure
- Proven P&L ownership track record across at least 2 of the 4 product lines (UBL / LAP / EPM / SCF).
