About the role

We're looking for a data science leader to guide and grow a high-impact team focused on Mozilla's expanding portfolio of monetized products and services. This role is central to shaping a monetization strategy that aligns with our core values - protecting user privacy, delivering meaningful value to users, and ensuring the long-term financial health of Mozilla. What you'll do: Lead and scale a high-performing data science team, driving strategy and execution across monetized features and surfaces. Balance business goals and user trust by defining a monetization framework that supports privacy and user-first principles. Translate data into impact through deep analysis, clear insights, and the development of metrics, dashboards, and self-serve reporting tools that enable stakeholders to make informed decisions. Drive measurement rigor by designing and evolving experimentation and evaluation frameworks for testing and optimizing monetization features. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Advertising teams to define and deliver on our product and monetization roadmap. What you'll bring: 6+ years of experience in data science with a strong focus on monetization. Experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, search and recommendation systems is a strong plus. 3+ years of experience leading and scaling data science teams. Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and applied data analytics. Proficiency in Python, as well as SQL. Strong understanding of privacy-preserving technologies and how they can be applied within advertising or monetization contexts. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
