The Role
We are seeking a self-motivated technical lead to drive the full software development lifecycle—from understanding key business objectives to designing, building, testing, and maintaining high-performance, highly available systems. Our business has scaled rapidly by leveraging third-party technology to create engaging consumer experiences and power a competitive advertiser marketplace, reaching hundreds of thousands of daily consumers and driving revenue through targeted advertising. Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: As a technical leader you will drive innovation, lead decisions, and shape the future direction of our proprietary platform.
- Hands-on Development: Lead and participate in development activities, fostering a team environment of knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including the CTO, CPO, and other leaders to translate business needs into technical solutions. Provide subject matter expertise on business rules and processes of the system.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment for knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Innovation: Continuously improve the system by researching and implementing the latest technologies and best practices.
- Strategy & Road Mapping: Take a creative and innovative approach to tackle complex technical challenges. Grasp business strategy and objectives to ensure features are appropriately scoped.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have 7+ years of strong hands-on back-end development experience – we are currently using Golang.
- Proficient with at least 1 front-end JavaScript framework (React preferred).
- Data modeling and coding against SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices, with a track record of successfully implementing scalable and efficient solutions.
- Strong initiative, ability to drive projects independently, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with full transparency and a strong desire and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with caching and related tooling such as Redis.
- Proficient with containerization technologies (Docker, K8S, etc.)
- Experience solutioning for the cloud with experience with GCP, AWS or Azure
- Documentation and process oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge and/or direct experience in AdTech, specifically in site development, Coreg Content Management Systems (CMS), ad serving technology, bidding, ad targeting, or real-time auctions.
- Startup experience, moving quickly with imperfect information and taking on multiple roles.
- Has led a software engineering team on a large-scale software engineering project.
