This is a safety-sensitive position subject to the rules, regulations, and the required testing policy per the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The incumbent is required to fully comply with the Drug and Alcohol Policy and all operational safety rules and regulations established by Mountain Line.
Job Purpose of a Bus Detailer Fueler
Clean, fuel, and stage buses in a professional and safe manner for same day/next day operations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
• Fuels Mountain Line vehicles and parks units in the parking garage, staging vehicles appropriately for next-day service.
• Inspect interior and exterior of vehicles for dings, scratches, and other minor damages and reports identified concerns on the inspection log and/or to the supervisor.
• Maintains cleaning logs to document activities and tasks completed daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Utilizes the bus wash to wash the exterior of the vehicles.
• Ensures interior of vehicles are cleaned as per the protocols and procedures, including dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning seats, walls, ceiling, and disinfecting touchpoints of the driver and passenger areas. As needed, use additional tools and cleaning substances to scrub surfaces and remove grim, ink, and/or stickers.
• May assist with topping off vehicle fluids and performing extra board duties to aid with vehicle exchanges and closing duties.

Attendance
Attendance should be regular and predictable. General employment policies regarding vacation, sick, and unpaid leave apply. Occasional need to report to work on day off and work overtime.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge
• Safe operations of power washer and other janitorial equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of the methods and procedures used in the cleaning of all types and sizes of vehicles, engines, and components.
• Procedures for safe operation of Mountain Line vehicles.
Skills & Abilities
• Safely maneuver fleet equipment in bus washing bay and parking garage.
• 2-way radio communication.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
• English language usage; including spelling and vocabulary for written and verbal communication with other staff and customers.
• Attention to detail.
• Follow directions with minimal supervision.
• Work a flexible schedule, which can include working various days, hours, and shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Work safely and support a positive and diverse culture of workplace safety.
Working Conditions, Exposure to Risks and Physical Dangers
This position requires physical effort and manual dexterity such as walking, lifting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, twisting, pull/push, and lift up to 40 pounds in a proper safe manner.
This position works in a standard shop environment, which can include, but is not limited to, working with dust, fumes, exhaust, various noise levels, various temperatures, and chemicals for an extended length of time as well as in various outdoor weather conditions as required.
Because of the potential exposure associated with the work, incumbents in this job are required to follow all Mountain Line safety procedures, manuals, and guidelines. Additionally, incumbents are required to properly don safety-related clothing, protective hard hats, gloves, footwear, tools and equipment, and other safety-related gear.
Education Requirements:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
Similar Work Experience:
• 1 year of work experience that demonstrates ability to work with limited supervision and accomplish detailed work.
Licenses, Training, and/or Certifications Required:
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License with clean 5-year MVR
• Candidate must be at least 18 yrs. of age
