Job Role: Motor Electrical Design Engineer (E-Powertrain)
Location: Pune
Experience: 7 - 10 Years
Must Have
Min 4 Years of Design experience in Electric Motor Industry
Experience in the design of electrical machines and knowledge of electrical Vehicle drive train
Experience with FE tools for E-mag design, preferably Ansys Motor CAD, Maxwell 2D/3D or Speed
software
Domain knowledge of PMSM, BLDC, SRM & Induction Motors design and development for 2W/ 3W EV Applications
Education/qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical design of motors and electromagnetic analysis using ANSYS Motor-CAD, Maxwell (2D/3D), and SPEED software
- Develop and implement methods to improve electric machines through advanced materials and optimized design algorithms
- Stay updated on global technology trends, new regulations, and their implementation in motor design
- Testing and validation of electric machines as per applicable international standards
- Benchmarking existing designs and generating ideas to improve performance, quality, cost, and weight
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design challenges
- Responsible for PMSM, BLDC, SRM, Induction, and PMDC motor electrical design and development for EV and special applications
- Perform thermal analysis of motors and apply suitable cooling techniques
- Support prototype development, concept design, and provide guidance for motor winding and assembly
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7-10 years of design experience in the electric motor industry
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong experience in electrical machine design and electric vehicle drivetrain systems
- Hands-on experience with FE tools for electromagnetic design (ANSYS Motor-CAD, Maxwell 2D/3D, SPEED)
- Domain expertise in PMSM, BLDC, SRM, and Induction Motor design for 2W / 3W EV applications
- Passion for electric machines, drivetrains, and e-mobility
- Good knowledge of winding techniques, magnetic materials, and motor assembly processes
- Understanding of control strategies for BLDC and PMSM motors
- Familiarity with NEMA and IEC standards for 1-Phase and 3-Phase motors
- Willingness to travel as per business requirements
