Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Motor Claim Surveyor role based in Bareilly. The Motor Claim Surveyor is responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, assessing the extent of loss, and documenting findings through detailed survey reports. The role involves verifying claim details, reviewing policy coverage, collecting evidence such as photographs and statements, and coordinating with garages, service centers, and internal claims teams. The Motor Claim Surveyor ensures accurate cost estimation for repairs or total loss, supports fair and timely claim settlement, and adheres to company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Daily activities also include regular field visits, maintaining updated records, communicating with customers professionally, and providing clear technical inputs to support decision-making in the claims process.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of motor vehicles, bodywork, and mechanical components, with the ability to assess accident damage and repair requirements.
- Experience in motor claim surveying, loss assessment, or a related field within general insurance or automotive services.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and structured survey reports, including cost estimates and technical justifications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, garages, and internal teams in a professional manner.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgment to identify fraud indicators and ensure compliant claim handling.
- Comfort with fieldwork, including frequent travel within Bareilly and surrounding areas, and the ability to work independently.
- Basic computer skills for using claims systems, email, and documentation tools; familiarity with digital photography and report uploads.
- Diploma or degree in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred; relevant certifications in insurance or surveying are an advantage.
- Understanding of general insurance principles, motor insurance products, and applicable regulations will be beneficial.
