Job Description
GGIS is seeking a nurturing and well-organized Mother Teacher for Grades 1 and 2 to support holistic development during the early primary years. The role combines classroom instruction, pastoral care, routine management, and close observation of student progress to create a stable and encouraging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support daily classroom instruction across core learning areas for early primary students.
- Build warm, structured routines that help children develop confidence, independence, and foundational skills.
- Track student progress, behaviour, participation, and developmental milestones.
- Prepare learning materials, worksheets, classroom displays, and activity-based learning experiences.
- Support communication with parents regarding classroom progress, routines, and student needs.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with coordinators and specialist staff to ensure each child receives appropriate support.
Qualifications
- A diploma, bachelor’s degree, certification, or equivalent background in education, child development, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience teaching or supporting young learners in early primary settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child-centred learning, classroom routines, and age-appropriate engagement strategies.
- Patience, empathy, communication skills, and a calm classroom presence.
- Good planning, observation, and documentation ability.
- Team spirit and commitment to student wellbeing and foundational learning.
- Must be able to commute reliably to the Tathawade campus; the role is fully on-site and commute arrangements are the employee’s responsibility.
