Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Associate Vice President of User Experience and Design (UX) to lead the design and execution of exceptional user experiences across all platforms. As the AVP of UX and Design, you will oversee the UX strategy, manage and mentor a talented team, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a seamless and innovative product experience that resonates with our users. You will have a direct impact on shaping the future of our products, customer satisfaction, and overall brand identity.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Define and communicate the vision and long-term strategy for user experience across all digital products and platforms. Ensure UX strategy aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives.

Team Management

Lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse team of UX designers, researchers, and other professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture focused on continuous learning and innovation.

Collaboration

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success, to ensure user experience is integrated into every stage of product development.

User Research & Insights

Oversee the UX research function, ensuring that user feedback, data analytics, and insights are regularly incorporated into the design process. Use research to drive decisions and validate assumptions about user needs and behaviors.

Design Excellence

Ensure that all designs are visually compelling, intuitive, and consistent with the brand. Guide the team to create user-centered design solutions that address both functional and emotional needs.

Process Improvement

Establish and refine design processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across all user experience efforts.

Advocacy

Serve as the voice of the user within the organization, advocating for user-centric approaches and educating leadership on the value of UX. Promote a user-first mindset across the organization.

Innovation & Trends

Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in UX design and user-centered design to drive continuous innovation.

Metrics & KPIs

Define and track UX-related metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of design solutions, ensuring that the user experience is continuously improving and delivering value.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in user experience, product design, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading UX teams and executing UX strategies for complex digital products.

Leadership Skills

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and a strategic mindset to align UX initiatives with business goals.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of UX principles, user-centered design processes, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and prototyping tools.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Experience

  • Experience working closely with product managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to deliver high-quality user experiences.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

Portfolio

  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user experience design, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.

Additional Skills

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and make data-driven decisions.
  • Deep understanding of user psychology and behavioral science.
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling abilities for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with agile and iterative design processes.

Compensation: $201,600K - $265,000K & bonus eligible
