Description
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Grants Managers, the Grants Accountant will be involved in all functions related to the planning, writing, and oversight of Tribal, Federal, State, and local grant dollars.
- Oversee all functions involved in the oversight of Tribal, Federal, State, and local grant dollars, including, but not limited to, research, writing, accounting, drawdowns, programmatic and financial reporting, grant modifications and communications with agencies and departments, the year-end reporting SEFA, and all journals related to grant accounting.
- Participate in the planning of future grants
- Train and represent the Tribe in all grant-related functions
- Keep current with all Uniform Guidance related to the awarded grants, ensuring compliance.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A BA/BS degree in business administration or accounting is required.
- Five years’ experience involving the review, analysis, maintenance, and adjustment of a variety of accounts and ledgers.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in both a governmental and not-for-profit environment.
- Experience with the use of MIP/ABILA accounting software is preferred
