About the role

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President to join our ISG Aligned Operations Team is responsible for affirming and confirming that trades are agreed with counterparties, economic terms of the transactions are agreed and that we have sign off / exchange the legal documents produced by the drafting group. In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Advanced Specialist position at Vice President level within the Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes. What you’ll do in the role: Role Responsibilities: - Manage complex processes and/or support significant process management/project efforts - Lead in process improvement, project management or technology development and testing across multiple teams and/or divisions - Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues or non-standard issues, identify risks, root causes and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution - Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations - Serve as the front-line operations support for the Business Unit for securities lending and secured financing products. - Work closely with other internal and external stakeholders including settlement and corporate actions teams throughout the lifecycle of a trade. - Knowledge of Security Lending (Stock Loan) and Secured Funding would be preferred. - Serve as the primary point of contact to Borrowers and Lenders (clients) of securities. This includes working with other areas who also have contact with the clients and acting as a point of escalation for any issues - Ensure the firm is not exposed to Lenders and that any exposures or collaterals are understood and agreed with Credit - Perform trade lifecycle amendments and reconcile positions to identify and reduce risk. - Pre-match trades and perform failing trade management - Perform daily cash and stock reconciliation ensuring Morgan Stanley-s books and records match external positions - Knowledge about SFTR Regulation would be added advantage What you’ll bring to the role: - Over 10 years of experience in financial services - Attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel - A good aptitude for working in a demanding, fast paced environment - An ability to handle high volume workloads and prioritization skills - A flair for learning new functions/systems quickly - Flexibility with regards to hours worked - A good approach to change management on account of the team-s continual growth and development - Strong communication skills as you will be expected to develop relationships with clients - An understanding of escalation - An ability to handle working in a pressurized environment - A desire to question existing procedures and continually seek to improve processes - A desire to go -above and beyond- daily responsibilities - seek to problem solve - At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
