Modular POD Product Designer / Architect

Role Overview
We are hiring a Modular POD Product Designer / Architect for a high-growth product engineering team working on next-generation modular construction systems.
This role focuses on designing factory-manufactured architectural PODs such as kitchens, bathrooms, living units, and stair modules that integrate into modern buildings.
The position sits at the intersection of architecture, industrial design, and product engineering, and requires hands-on involvement from concept design to prototype development and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop modular architectural PODs aligned with product experience and design standards.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, production drawings, and technical documentation.
• Translate conceptual ideas into parametric and manufacturable components.
• Prepare BOMs, specifications, and fabrication documentation.
• Work with cross-functional teams including mechanical, structural, and software engineers.
• Support prototype development and product validation stages.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for manufacturing and production readiness.
• Ensure seamless integration of POD systems with architectural environments and building services.
Required Qualifications
• B.Des OR B.Arch + M.Des (Industrial Design / Furniture Design)
• 3+ years experience (M.Des) OR 5+ years experience (B.Des / B.Arch) in product or modular design
• Strong experience in 3D modeling and product design tools
Preferred tools include:
• Autodesk Inventor
• Revit
• AutoCAD
• Rhino 3D
• Keyshot / Blender
• Adobe Photoshop
Critical Experience (Mandatory)
Applicants must have hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Modular architecture or prefabricated construction
• Modular furniture or product design
• Industrial design for built environments
• Parametric design and fabrication workflows
Candidates without experience in product-based design or modular systems may not be considered.
Preferred Skills
• Understanding of architectural construction fundamentals
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes
• Basic familiarity with MEP services integration
• Experience working with prototype development and production teams
